CROSSING GREENLAND

Greenland expedition from April to May 1988

In 1988, with five companions, Jean-Louis Etienne made the first crossing of North-East Greenland dog sledding. Leaving April 18 from Narssarssuaq, at the extreme south of the island, they reach the Humbolt glacier, to the north, after two months of crossing. This adventure is a 2,000 km training to prepare for the Transantarctica Expedition, the Great Antarctic Crossing, in 1989-1990.
